Germany MPs visit Parliament, 24 March 2017

A delegation comprised of Members of the Bavarian State Parliament from the Federal Republic of Germany visited the Namibian Parliament on the 20th of March 2017. The delegation led by Hon. Petra L. Guttenberger emphasized the need for economic cooperation between Namibia and the State of Bavaria. Of particular importance to the delegation was solar energy.

Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Prof Peter Katjavivi who welcomed the proposal and had appealed for cooperation in vocational training further reiterated the importance of ongoing genocide discussions between the two countries.

 

The Germany delegation was comprised of Hon. Thomas Kreuzer, CSU party whip and former State Minister, Hon. Petra L. Guttenberger, Deputy-Chairwoman of the Committee on Constitution, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Hon. Jürgen W. Heike, Chairman of the Parliamentary Control Committee, former State Secretary, Hon. Dr Franz Rieger, Chairman of the Committee on Federal and European Affairs andHon. Mechthild Wittmann.
