Windhoek – The visiting delegation from the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led by H.E. Mr. Zhu Yongxin, Vice-Chairperson of the CPPCC National Committee, on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Dr. Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila.
The engagement formed part of the delegation’s official visit to Namibia aimed at strengthening parliamentary relations and cooperation between Namibia and the People’s Republic of China.
During the discussions, Hon. Dr. Kuugongelwa-Amadhila highlighted the importance of continued bilateral cooperation in areas such as technological assistance, trade, and the longstanding friendship between Namibia and China.
She emphasised the value of parliamentary diplomacy in advancing mutual development interests and strengthening relations between the two countries.
The Speaker was accompanied by the Vice-Chairperson of the National Council, Hon. Emma Tangi Muteka, alongside Members of Parliament from the Namibia–China Friendship Group.
During the visit, the delegation also paid courtesy calls on the Chairperson of the National Council, Hon. Lukas Sinimbo Muha, and the Vice-President of the Republic of Namibia, H.E. Lucia Witbooi.
On his part, H.E. Mr. Zhu Yongxin commended the strong bilateral relations between Namibia and China and highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and deepening cooperation between the two countries.The delegation is in Namibia on an official visit hosted by the National Council from 26–28 May 2026.
