The Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Dr. Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, received a courtesy visit from H.E. Jerobeam Kakeke Shaanika, Ambassador Designate of the Republic of Namibia to the Federal Republic of Germany.
During the meeting, discussions centered on the state of bilateral relations between Namibia and Germany, highlighting cooperation in areas such as development assistance, beneficiation of critical raw materials, climate resilience, renewable energy, and green hydrogen initiatives. They equally had deep reflections on the issue of Genocide and reparations, calling for unity of purpose and adoption of a cautious yet pragmatic approach in pursuance of the agenda.
The engagement underscored that Namibia continues to value its strong partnership with Germany, grounded in mutual respect and shared goals of sustainable development, economic growth, and global cooperation. The Speaker wishes him well as he embarks upon his new role and vow to continuously engage on matters relating to legislative cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
