Personal Born on 23 March 1958 at Linyanti, Caprivi Region.
Education Kanono Primary School and then Simataa Secondary School in Caprivi Region. Trained as an artillery gunner 1975-1976 in Zambia. Graduate of Vystrel Military Academy [Moscow USSR 1982]. Graduate of the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leaven Worth [Kansas USA] 1992-1993. Other Courses: Staff Course run by British Military Advisory Training Team [Windhoek 1990]. Military law course Okahandja Military School and Unam 1991 and 1996 respectively. UN Peacekeeping Operations course Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 1996. Conflict Management Course with the African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes, Harare, Zimbabwe 1999.
Career Assignments: Plan Combatant, in Zambia and Angolan 1975-1989. Served with Cuban Artillery Regiment in Angola. Inducted in the NDF as a Captain in the Presidential Guard of Honour 1990. 1990-1991 Second in Command [21C] 2nd Battalion Oshakati, 1993-94 Chief Instructor Okahandja Military School, 1994-1995 staff Officer for Operators and Training [Army Headquarters Grootfontein]. 1998-1999 for seven months staff Officer for Operations and Plans SADC Allied Headquarters DRC. 1999 Directing Staff SADC Peacekeeping Training Centre Harare, Zimbabwe. November 1999-March 2000 NDF Commander in Kavango Region. Went through ranks up to Lt. Colonel in the NDF.
