The Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Dr. Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, visited Windhoek Central Hospital as part of her parliamentary outreach program. During the visit, the Speaker was welcomed by Dr Shidhika and toured the Children’s Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and observed clinic day activities, engaging with healthcare workers and families while appreciating the dedication of frontline medical staff.
As part of the outreach visit, the Speaker also donated a tablet, stationery, educational books and toiletries to support children receiving treatment at the hospital. The donation was made in recognition that many children spend extended periods away from school while hospitalized and may fall behind in their learning. The outreach highlights the importance of strengthening public institutions, supporting frontline workers, and ensuring that Namibia’s children receive both quality healthcare and continued learning opportunities.
