Functions of the Committee are to:

  1. Review Bills, reports or issues that are referred to the Committee.
  2. Make recommendations for changes to Bills, reports and issues that are referred to the Committee.
  3. Receiving of petitions lodged in terms of rule 83 of the Standing Rules and Order and deal with them in terms of these rules, the Committee can also establish sub-Committees, as it deems necessary to deal with Petitions on specialized topics.
  4. Conduct hearings on Bills referred to it if the Committee deems it to be necessary.
