The National Assembly Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is currently participating in a technical training workshop in Oshakati from 14–18 July 2025, aimed at capacitating Members of Parliament to effectively review audit reports produced by the Office of the Auditor-General.
This is part of Parliament’s broader effort to enhance oversight, transparency & accountability in the management of public resources. The training covers a variety of topics vital in fulfillment of the commitees’s mandate, such as: Understanding the National Budget Process; The Audit Cycle and the Role of the Auditor-General; Types of Audit Reports: Financial, Compliance, Performance, and Environmental; Interpreting Audit Opinions and Financial Statements; Financial Regulations and the State Finance Framework; Role of Internal Audit Units in Budget Execution.
Through expert-led sessions and practical case studies, MPs are gaining deeper insight into technical audit reviews, value-for-money principles, and follow-up procedures that hold public institutions accountable
