The Parliamentary Committee on International Relations, led by its Chairperson, Hon. James Uerikua, held an informal engagement with Dr. Thorsten Hutter, the German Ambassador to Namibia.
The engagement follows an invite in which the German Embassy expressed their willingness to establish a networking forum with Members of various Parliamentary Committees , this proposed forum aims to facilitate regular exchanges. The delegation discussed several issues of mutual interest, including avenues for enhanced legislative cooperation, capacity-building opportunities & strengthening parliamentary diplomacy between the two nations and as well the protracted genocide negotiations.
The meeting further demonstrated the longstanding bilateral relations between Namibia and Germany, with both institutions expressing optimism that the establishment of the networking forum will contribute to more structured, continuous, and meaningful engagement moving forward.
