Functions of the Committee are to:
- Monitoring and making recommendations on health and social services in Namibia
- Promote gender equality, ensuring gender balance in legislation and reviewing laws and policies that may negatively affect women and children.
- Facilitate the implementation of international agreements on healthcare, social welfare, and family issues.
- Scrutinises relevant international protocols and examines government reports to improve performance, accountability and transparency.
